  Variety characteristics:
  Fruits are long cylindrical, with an average individual fruit weight of 103 g and a maximum of 180 g. Fruit shape index is 1.15, the flesh is jade green and juicy, the content of soluble solids is 18.7-21.4%. The total sugar content is 9.60-11.3%, total acid 1.08-1.23%, Vc 125.2 mg/100g. Fruit can be stored at room temperature for 30-40 days, and in cold conditions until May next year. Resistant to Kiwi canker, consumed as fresh fruit, of processed into juice, dried fruit and wine.

  Key silvicultural techniques:
  Loose, fertile, well drained and slightly acidic sandy loam should be selected. Spacing is 4 × 4-5 m, the male trees are 'Jinxiong 1', and appropriate male to female ratio is 6-8:1. Shelter frame and T-formed frame are appropriate supports for the plant. Timely pruning is needed, thinning of flowers and fruits should be given attention. Fertilization is done three times a year, late February to early March for budding, after flowering for fruiting and after harvesting for base fertilizer together with soil preparation. In hot and dry season measures for water conservation should be conducted to prevent drought damage.

  Suitable areas for planting:
  Areas with slightly acidic soil and below 1000 m of altitude in Hubei, Jiangxi, Shaanxi and Anhui provinces.

  Zhongnong jinhui

  Variety characteristics:
  Tree vigor is moderate, healthy and strong. Fruit is oval, with an average individual weight of 173 g and a maximum of 252 g; Pericarp is hairless, yellow background, more than 80% fruit surface colored with bright and fresh red, pericarp cannot be stripped off; flesh is orange in color, hard and soluble, clingstone. Soluble solids content of 17.3%, total sugar 14.02%, total acid 0.42%, VC 13.08mg/100g. Fruit consumed in fresh

  Key silvicultural techniques:
  Strict thinning of flowers and fruits are conducted to keep fruits on same branch 10 cm apart. Better to retain fruits on the long branches. Winter pruning intended to keep and help to develop long branches. The appropriate angle of main branches is 60- 70 degrees. Soil and fertilizer management conducted to improve fruit quality, application of 0.5 kg/tree thoroughly decomposed pressed-oil-residue fertilizer 30 days before fruit ripening, supplemented with foliage spray of 0.3% potassium sulfate or potassium nitrate twice. The chilling requirement is 650-700 hours, and pollinator trees should have the same or shorter chilling requirement.

  Regions with an annual rainfall less than 1000 mm in Henan, Shanxi and Liaoning provinces.

  Meirensu

  Variety characteristics:
  Conical crown opens after fruit bearing. Fruit is ovoid in shape with an average individual fruit weight of 280 g, yellowish white as background color, and bright red at the sun-facing side accounting for 2/3 of the entire surface. Flesh is milk white, crisp and juicy, with few stone cells, the content of soluble solids is 15.5%, total sugar 9.96%, organic acids 0.51%, VC 7.22 mg/100g. Fruit consumed in fresh.

  Key silvicultural techniques:
  Initial spacing of plantings is 2 × 3-4 m, and thinned to 4 × 6 m 10-15 years later. Tree form pruned to fusiform and sparse-layered shape. Thinning of flowers and fruits and bagging of fruits are needed during peak period of fruiting. Pollinator trees are needed in a ration of 5?1 - 8?1, varieties of ‘Mantianhong’, ‘Hongsucui’ and ‘Meirensu’ can pollinate with each other, varieties of ‘Jinxing’, ‘Hongxiangsu’ and ‘Yuanhuangli’ can also be used as pollinator trees. Additional phosphate and micronutrient fertilizers are applied by foliage spray in the early period of maturing. Fruit bags removed 2-3 days after opening bag for shading and airing.   Variety characteristics:
  Upright tree form, conical crown and nearly round fruit, with an average individual fruit weight of 275 g .Bagged fruits are colored with pale yellowish white. Bright red the sunny side, Two-thirds of the fruit face, without bagging the fruit face is dark red. The fruit is yellowish white, Flesh is crisp and juicy, content of soluble solid state material 15.0%, total sugar content 9.45%, content of organic acids 0.4%, VC content 7.48 mg/100g. Suitable for fresh fruit.

The content of soluble solids is 5%, total sugar 8.48%, organic acids 0.39%, VC 7.03 mg/100g. Suitable for fresh fruit.

  Variety characteristics:
  Tree form is upright or half spreading, with strong growth vigor, and natural semi-round crown. The nuts are long oval. Fruit ripens in late August, easy to take out the kernel. The kernel is 9.35 g in weight, accounting for 55.42% of the total nut weight. Fat content is 63.6%, protein 18.25%, tastes fragrant and slightly puckery. Suitable for fresh nut, or processed to produce walnut kernel, walnut oil, walnut powder or used for barren mountain and urban plantings.

  Key silvicultural techniques:
  Planting spacing at 4 x 5 m and 5 x 6 m in plain areas, trunk headed at 1.2-1.5 m in height. Planting spacing at 4×4 m and 4×5 m in hills and mountains, trunk headed at 1.0-1.2 m in height on hills and mountains. It can be planted in mixture with walnut varieties of ‘Yuanfeng’, ’Shangsong 6’ and ‘Anbian 2’ to pollinate among each other, at an 8:2 ratio of fruit trees to pollinator trees. Trees pruned to form sparsely-layered or natural open heart-shaped canopy. Organic fertilizers applied as the main fertilizer with supplement of inorganic fertilizer at a frequency of at least 1-3 times per year. Attention should be given to pest and disease control.

  Zhongkeluchuan 1

Species: Matrimony vine

  Variety characteristics:
  Open tree form, strong tree vigor, grayish white bark. Peak fruiting period starts from the third year, with an average fruit production of 425 g per mu. The fruit is pear-formed or round, the average longitudinal diameter of mature fruit is 1.42 cm, and the average latitudinal diameter is 1.36 cm, the 1000-grain weight in late harvest period is 623.8 g. The total water content of the fruit is 80.09%, and the polysaccharide content is 3.82g/100g. Suitable for fresh fruit and used for wolfberry wine, beverage, etc

  Key silvicultural techniques:
  Sandy loam or slightly-sandy loam in flat areas with convenient irrigation and highly matured soil are selected for planting sites. Base fertilizers applied once respectively in spring and autumn, planting pits prepared in size of 40 × 40 × 40 cm. Stem headed at 55-60 cm above ground during early period of fruiting, adult plants pruned in growing season and dormant season. Timely harvesting when fruit color changes from yellow-red to bright red.

  Regions of growing Matrimony vine in Ningxia, Qinghai, Xinjiang provinces.
